Study on Fatigue Property of WC-Co Cemented Carbide

In this article the property of formation and expands of fatigue cracks in WC-Co cemented carbides are summerized,it's pointed out that many types of fatigue affect WC-Co carbide when it's working,but the main formation of fatigue is different,thereinto,thermal fatigue is the main factor which leads to alloy failure when it's used in terrane which has a common rigidity,shock fatigue is the main factor which leads to alloy failure when it's used in hard terrane.Some major conclusions are summed up:The microstructure(WC grain size),chemical composition(Co content and carbon content),purity(impurity element) and residual stress of alloy are main factors which can affect the fatigue properties of WC-Co cemented carbide strongly,specially it's figured that the mean free path of Co binder is the most important factor to affect fatigue properties of alloy.
