Research Development on Nickel Recovery Technologies from Nickel-bearing Laterite

Nickel has been widely used since the middle 1980s,with stainless steel as the main product of its consumption.With the sulfide nickel ore becoming deficient day by day as a resource,the development of the laterite-nickel ore will be the main source of nickel industry in the future.In this paper,to provide the reference for the reasonable utilization of the nickel-bearing laterite,hydrometallurgy,pyrometallurgy,chloridizing-magnetic separation,sulfide reducing roasting-magnetic separation and microbial leaching are introduced as the main ways of treating nickel-bearing laterite,which according to the different layers of the laterite deposit.
