Research on the Influence of Co-doping on Structure and Photo Catalytic Properties of PrMnO_3 Ultrafine Particles

Ultrafine perovskite-type oxides PrMn1-xCoxO3(x=0,0.1,0.2,0.3,0.4)were prepared by solgel method combined with vacuum drying technology.Products were characterized by XRD,TEM,TG-DTA and FTIR to investigate effects of Co-doping on particle structure.Using photocatalytic degrading process of methyl orange(MO)solution to evaluate photocatalytic properties of the products.Results indicate:in the process of thermal treatment of Pr-Mn xerogel,crystalline phase Pr6O11 appeared at 500℃and Mn2O3 could be obtained at 700℃.Quasiglobal particles of rhombic system perovskite-type PrMnO3 powders with diameter less than 100 nm could be got at900℃.Pr-Mn-Co xerogel could be converted to quasi-global perovskite type PrMn1-xCoxO3 particles about 30 nm after thermal treatment at 900℃.Mn together with Co cation constituted the B node of PrMn1-xCoxO3 lattice,Co-doping PrMnO3 powders had higher photo catalytic activity.
