Effect of Hot Deformation on the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of 316LN Austenitic Stainless Steel

Effect of deformation temperature,strain and passes on the microstructure and mechanical property of 316 LN austenitic stainless steel was studied by Gleeble-1500 thermomechanical simulator,optical microscopy(OM)and Nano IndenterⅡ.The results showed that the difference of microstructure and mechanical property among specimens′three deformation zones was large.Study of centre zones of samples indicated that finer grain and higher microhardness of the samples can be got under bigger strain.Recrystallization of specimens became more sufficient with higher deformation temperature.The grains of the samples got uniformly distribution and more round after multipasses treatment.The microhardness and elasticity modulus of the sample deformed at 1000℃ were higher than those of original sample at the strain of 0.6,but sample deformed at 1200℃ were adverse.
