Study on the Luminescent Properties of Ba_2Gd_2Si_4O_(13)∶Dy~(3+)

The Ba2Gd2Si4O13∶Dy3+phosphors were prepared by a solid-state reaction method,and then the properties were investigated through XRD,FTIR,SEM,XPS and photoluminescence of excitation-emission spectra.The results suggested that the long columnar morphology of Ba2Gd2Si4O13∶Dy3+was formed by means of Li2CO3-NH4 F flux mixture.The characteristics spectrum of Dy3+appeared in the Ba2Gd2Si4O13∶Dy3+phosphor under the excitation of 349 nm and 274 nm,respectively.Furthermore,the CIE chromaticity coordinates of Ba2Gd2Si4O13∶Dy3+moved toward the white light region.The emission intensity of Dy3+was enhanced due to the energy transfer of Gd3+→Dy3+.The optimal Dy3+-doping concentration was 2.0%and the critical transfer distance for Dy3+was about30in Ba2Gd2Si4O13∶Dy3+phosphor.The results showed that Ba2Gd2Si4O13∶Dy3+could be used as potential single-doped and single-composition white light LED phosphors.
