Effects of Ag and La Double-doping on the Thermoelectric Properties of Ca_3Co_4O_9

A series of(Ca1-x-yAgxLay)3Co4O9(x=0,0.1,y=0;x=0.1,y=0.02,0.04,0.06)were prepared by solid reaction method under normal pressure in air.The phase distributions and microstructures were characterized by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy.The thermoelectric parameters such as Seebeck coefficient,electrical resistivity and thermal conductivity were studied to evaluate the influences of Ag and La double-doping on the thermoelectric properties.The results show that the samples of Ca3Co4O9double-doped with Ag and La possess better thermoelectric properties comparing with single Ag doped and un-doped materials.The concentration of doped Ag and La plays an important role on the thermoelectric properties.The sample of x=0.1,y=0.02 has the best ZT value at 873 K.
