Controllable Synthesis and Electrochemical Performance Study of MnO_2/NiCo_2O_4

MnO_2/NiCo_2O_4 core-shell nanorods were prepared by a two-step synthesis method.The morphological and electrochemical properties of MnO_2/NiCo_2O_4 nanorods were studied by field emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD)and electrochemical workstation.The results showed that the NiCo_2O_4 nanosheets are grown on theα-MnO_2 nanorods' surface.The electrochemical test's results showed that this MnO_2/NiCo_2O_4 composites display specific capacitance(434 F/g at current density of 0.5 A/g),better than pureα-MnO_2(256 F/g).After cycling 2 000 times,the capacitance retention still maintained91.8%,These attractive findings suggest this novel core-shell nanorods promising for electrochemical applications as an efficient supercapacitive electrode.
