Research Development of Carbon Aerogels in Electrochemical Fields

Carbon aerogles are novel non-crystalline nanometer materials that especially suit as catalysts and its suppoet due to their large Specific surface areas(600—1 100 m2/g),high porosity(80%—98%)and stable physicochemical properties.Moreover,the carbon aerogels have extremely low thermal conductivity and good conductivity,which show great application prospect in high temperature resistant materials and electrochemical fields.In recent years,carbon aerogels have obtained vigorous development as electrochemical energy materials.This paper aims at this situaion and introduce the preparation methods of carbon aerogels and the research development of carbon aerogels in electrochemical fields such as fuel cell,lithium-ion battery and electrochemical supercapacitor.
