Synthesis and Characterization of Au/Fe_3O_4 Magnetic Nanoparticles

This paper reports a new method to synthesize a new kind of Au/Fe_3O_4 magnetic nanoparticle with thiol functional group modification.Fe_3O_4 magnetic nanoparticles were prepared by co-precipitation method,and then Au/Fe_3O_4 magnetic core-shell nanoparticles were prepared by reducing HAuCl4 with poly(allylamine)solution,and then modified with 3-mercapto-1-propanesulfonic acid sodium salt to modify the magnetic properties of Au/Fe_3O_4 nanoparticles.Finally,a stable Au/Fe_3O_4 magnetic nanoparticle with thiol functional groups was obtained.The synthesized nano-particles were characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),energy dispersive spectrometer(EDS),X-ray diffraction.(XRD),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)and vibration sample magnetometer(VSM).
