Synthesis and Characterization of Two-dimension Graphene-like Tetrabenzoporphyrin Thin Film

Based on the classic synthesis of zinc tetrabenzoporphyrin by the thermal condensation method,we have designed an efficient method to build planar porphyrin films by using apotassium pyromellitic diimide contributed reaction.As a result,the polyporphyrin atomically thin films are successfully synthesized by real-time covalently bridging porphyrin during their monomer synthesis.The planar units exhibit high orientation in two-dimensional construction,leading to the formation of atomically thin films with sizes of several micrometers and the state of free standing.One zinc atom is coordinated with four nitrogen atoms in the film,and the central ion can be replaced by other metal ions leading to form different electronic properties of porphyrin polymer.This will provide a broad space for the regulation to its electronic structure of the film.The porphyrin films display unusual electronic state and photoabsorption property due to the highly extended conjugated systems,implying potential uses in electronic and optoelectronic devices,sensor,and catalysis.
