Preparation and Characterization of PVA-PAA Composite Hydrogel Reinforced by Oxidized Graphene

Hydrogel has high water content,low friction,good biocompatibility and other excellent performance,which is considered as the most potential material for cartilage repair.However,the traditional hydrogels limit their application because of low mechanical strength.In this paper,graphene oxide(GO)was used as an enhancer,and a high strength PVA-PAA-GO composite hydrogel was prepared by freezing thawing and annealing.The results show that the PVA-PAA-GO composite hydrogel has good mechanical strength with porous structure.With the increase of GO content,the mechanical strength showed a tendency to rise first and then decrease.When the content of GO is 0.05%,the mechanical strength is 34 MPa.When the content of GO is 0.05%and 1%,the loss factor of PVA-PAA-GO composite hydrogel is less than 0.1,the dynamic mechanical properties is similar with natural cartilage.
