Fabrication and Characterization of Silk Fibroin/Graphene Oxide Composite Hydrogel

In the present study,the problems of poor mechanical strength and unsatisfactory biodegradation time is generally found in medical hydrogel materials.Thus,a new model of porous scaffolds for tissue engineering was described.Composite hydrogel based on silk fibroin(SF)and graphene oxide(GO)were fabricated by simply edding the chemical crosslinking agent.The composite hydrogel showed random coils according X-ray diffraction(XRD)and three-dimensional porous by scanning electron microscope(SEM).Compared with the SF hydrogel,the hydrogels prepared by incorporating GO showed a higher formation rate and a lower enzymatic degradation rate.Moreover,hydrogels exhibited favorable elasticity and compressive strength up to 140%.We suggest that the composite hydrogel will be one of the valuable material to future tissue engineering application.
