A Novel Shape-stabilized Phase Change Materials with High Heat Storage Density

In this paper,by introducing 1,3∶2,4-di-(4-methyl)benzylidene sorbitol(MDBS),which was prepared from sorbitol and p-methylbenzaldehyde,as gelators into paraffin,three dimensional netted structural paraffin-based shape-stabilized composite phase change materials(PCMs)were obtained.It was found that the resulting PCMs showed lower leakage with high weight percentage of paraffin from the gel-to-sol transition temperature and leakage tests.This may open a way to enhance the heat storage density of paraffin-based PCMs.
