Formation Mechanism and Control Solution of Welding Crack for Material used in High-parameters Steam Turbines

13 Cr9 Mo1 Co1 NiVNbNB(FB2)is used for rotors of 620℃steam turbine,it is a new type of heat-resistant steel of modified 9 Cr martensitic whose creep strength is greatly enhanced through the reasonable control of content of B and N.However,micro-cracks are likely to be randomly distributed around the heat affected zone(HAZ).Gleeble thermal simulation experiment results indicated that the plasticity recovery temperature is as high as 1 150℃,which makes the material is highly liquation-cracks sensitive.A small amount of Laves phases were found randomly distributed in the base material by SEM and EDS analyses,the eutectic reaction in high temperature zone forms liquation films which are distributed along the grain boundaries,so liquation-cracks are easily to generate under the weld stresses.In order to effectively control the generation of liquation-cracks and improve the quality of the products,it is suggested to shorten the high temperature duration in the welding thermal cycle by reducing the heat input,controlling the preheating and interpass temperatures.
