Research of Sn-based Impregnated Alloy Used for Nickel Plating Copper Bearing Shell

Sn-Ag-Cu-Ni soaking brazing filler metal and pre-nickel plating were designed and developed in order to improve the bonding strength of bearing shell.The results show that the strength of Sn-Ag-Cu-Ni impregnated alloy brazing is the highest,reaching 58.4 MPa,which meets the technical requirement of high-speed heavy-duty bearing for bonding strength(not less than 55 MPa).The Cu_6Sn_5 phase is formed at the interface,and the Cu_6Sn_5 phase is continuously grown and coarsened during the thermal fatigue cycle test.Finally,the whole brazing area is changed to Cu_6Sn_5 phase.The formation of a penetrating crack,the joint strong enemy decreased sharply.Comparing with the traditional pure tin impregnated copper matrix process,the use of pre-nickel,tin-based impregnated alloy technology can reduce the formation of brittle Cu_6Sn_5 phase,the interface toughness of copper matrix improved.
