Investigation on the Ferrite Transformation Measurement Methods During Continuous Cooling

The hot dilation,DSC method and high temperature confocal laser scanning microscope(CLSM)observation methods were used to measure the ferrite transformation temperature during continuous cooling in order to find the appropriate method to measure transformation.The experiment results show that the three methods all can be used to measure ferrite transformation temperature.In addition,the DSC has more sensitive hot signal to measure the pearlite transformation compared with the hot dilation method with volume signal.What's more,the ferrite transformation temperatures measured by DSC method have good repeatability.The experiment results prove that the hot dilatation method adapt to measure the transformation with obvious volume change.The high temperature CLSM observation method can be used to measure different kinds of transformation,particularly adapt to measure the transformation with surface relief and record the transformation course,including the nucleation location and transformation time.Furthermore,combing DSC method and high temperature CLSM observation method can describe the dynamic transformation course completely.
