Research Progress of the Effect of Nanosilica on the Fluidity of Cement-based Materials

The high specific surface area and small particle size of nanosilica contribute to its pozzolanic,seeding and filler effects,by which the enhanced hydrated products and microstructure of cement-based materials can be achieved.Among different nanomaterials,nanosilica has been the most common nano material and become the hot point.However,it has not been reported about the effect of nanosilica on fluidity of cement-based materials.In this paper,the effect of two types of nanosilica(powder and colloidal suspension)on fluidity of cement-based materials is reviewed.The mechanism about the effect of nanosilica on fluidity of cement-based materials,current problems,and the effect of modified nanosilica on property of cement-based materials are mainly introduced.It provides a basis for future research about the modification of cement-based materials by nanosilica.At last,we put forward some positive proposals for future research.
