Finite Element Simulation of 42CrMo Steel Shot Peening

The shot peening process can improve the fatigue resistance of 42 CrMo crankshaft steel.The numerical simulation of shot peening was the main theoretical tool to develop the shot peening process and evaluate the surface fatigue of the resistance of the workpiece after shot peening.In this paper,the random shot peening model was used to generate the position of the projectile by the Rand random function provided by MATLAB software.Based on this model,the projectile diameter,projectile material,impact velocity and the distribution of the coverage and residual stress are studied.The influence of shot blast technology on the surface roughness of 42 CrMo crankshaft steel was further discussed.The study finds that with the increase of the diameter and speed of the projectile,the residual stress increases and the anti-fatigue performance improves,but the roughness also increases accordingly.With the increase of coverage,the residual stress increases,the surface residual stress distribution is more uniform and the stability is improved.The higher the projectile strength,the greater the residual stress.The random multi-projectile model is verified by the shot blast test,which provides the scientific basis and theoretical basis for the precise control of the pellet process.
