APPLICATION RESEARCH OF TEST EQUATING IN HIGH SCHOOL ENTERING EXAM——Exemplify High School Entering Exam of Foshan City in Guangdong Province

This research exemplified high school entering exam of Foshan city in Guangdong province and explored how to select decent equating design and method to solve the problem about how to transfer these scores from different zones. Using un-random anchor design, we compared three methods of classical test and found that the Tucker liner method was the best among them. The Levine liner equating method was relatively good. As for this examination, the unsmoothed frequency estimation equipercentile method was not appropriate. Equivalent analysis of variance (3×3) showed that the equivalent methods and the exam items were interacted (p0.001) . Different items were suitable for different equivalent methods.
