Study on the Torsion Characteristics of the Patterned Ionic Polymer Metal Composite

In this paper,the patterned IPMC is fabricated based on the basilemma of commercialized Nafion film and gradient Nafion film,and its torsion feature is studied.The results indicate that driven by DC voltage,the gradient film IPMC can realize the torsion angle larger than the commercial film,and can realize the torsion angle.Under the DC voltage,the torsion angle of the patterned IPMC with basilemma of gradient film is about 5 times larger than the one with basilemma of commercial film under 5V DC voltage.Under the AC voltage,the torsion angle increases with the voltage rising;and the torsion angle of the patterned IPMC with basilemma of gradient film is 2times larger than the one with basilemma of commercial film when supplied 5V voltage.
