Distribution of lectin receptors in normal liver, hepatocellularCarcinoma & its surrounding tissues

Distribution of 12 Lectin receptors was studied in the specimens of 4 fetal livers, 3 normal livers, 30 cases with hepatocellular carcinoma and their surrounding tissues (inluding 17 cases of hepatocirr ?hosis, 13 hepatitis) with ABC immunohistochemical techoique. The results showed that (1) ConA were positive in allspeciamens of fetid livers , normal Livers and the surrounding tissues of tumor. (2) PHA, RCA and WGA were positive in hepatocellular carcinoma and atypical proliferative hepatocells of the surrounding lesions of tumor, we suggest that CONA may be a marker as origin of liver tissue, and PHA. RCA and WGA may relate to the development of hepatocellular carcinoma, and may be a marker in the diagnosis of hepatocellular
