Analysis on Effect of Warm-mixing Agent on Pavement Performance of Asphalt Mixture

In order to analyze the effect of warm-mixing agent on various performances of asphalt mixture,the different warm-mixing amounts are used to prepare the warm-mixing asphalt mixtures and to measure the Marshall stabilities, high-temperature performances, low-temperature performances and water stabilities of warm-mixing asphalt mixture. Combined with relationship curve of warm-mixing agent amount and various performances, the optimum warm-mixing agent amount is recommended. Then the optimum warm-mixing agent amount is used to compare and analyze various pavement performances of warm-mixing asphalt mixture with the matrix asphalt mixture and SBS modified asphalt mixture. The test results show that the warming range of warm-mixing agent below the melting point mainly plays the role to increase the viscosity, and the warm range above the melting point mainly plays the role to decrease the viscosity. Therefore, the construction workability of asphalt mixture can be improved to upgrade the high-temperature performance and water stability of asphalt mixture. Due to the wax component ofwarm-mixing agent showing brittleness at low temperature, the low-temperature performance of warm-mixing asphalt mixture decreases to some extent.
