Study on the Penetration Performance of Tungsten Alloy and Uranium Alloy Fragments

For the study of different shapes of uranium and tungsten fragment fragmental penetration performance,three sets of Ф7 mm penetration of Q235 steel plate tungsten ball confirmatory simulation has carried out though AUTODYN software on the basis of the relevant test.The simulation results agree with the experimental results,which demonstrate the validity of the simulation method and relevant parameters.Then,numerical simulation of three tungsten and uranium alloy fragments with different shapes penetrating 10 mm thick Q235 steel target at different target stances was carried out.The results show that the penetration capability of uranium fragment is stronger than that of tungsten fragment under the same shape and initial velocity conditions regardless of the attitude of target.No matter the tungsten fragment or uranium fragment,the cube fragment with angular and edge target-orientation had the best penetration ability,while the cube fragment with cylindrical horizontal posture and face targetorientation had the worst penetration ability.
