Conformal Circularly Polarized Annular-ring Slot Antenna with Harmonic Suppression

In this paper,a conformal circularly polarized annular-ring slot antenna is designed which with harmonic suppression working at WiFi band.The proposed antenna consists of a feeding line at two-sides of a single-layer substrate and a ground plane with radiated slot.By etching an annular-ring slot and two symmetrical clockwise bending branches on the ground plane,circular polarization is obtained.In order to improve the axial ratio(AR)bandwidth and suppress the high-orders harmonic,two semi-elliptical slots and an inverted U-shaped slit are etched around the ground plane slot.Finally,the proposed antenna is conformal to a cylinder with a radius of 50 mm.The impedance bandwidth and AR bandwidth of the antenna are respectively 16.5%(2.22~2.62 GHz)and 7.4%(2.35~2.53 GHz).The maximum gain is up to 4 dBi over the operating frequency band.The second,third and fourth order harmonics of the antenna are well suppressed.
