Prediction of settlement of multi-arch tunnel using orthogonal polynomial method

A new method to predict the settlement of multi-arch tunnel using orthogonal polynomial method is presented in this paper.Based on numerical approximation theory,the orthogonal polynomial is used to fit S-t function.The normal family {Pn(x)} and ω(xi) can be constructed on the basis of the measured data,then S-t function is educed by using orthogonal polynomial.With the addition of new settlement data,the model parameters are continuously modified.The result shows that the numerical computation has good stability,and the result is reliable,which proves that the method is convenient and correct.
