Analysis of ATMD control for seismic responses of buildings

Under modern control theories,the analysis and design of ATMD active control for seismic responses of buildings was carried out using partial state feedback theories in closed-loop control.Taken an eight-building as an example,the optimization of physical and computational parameters for ATMD subsystem was conducted under the input of earthquakes,and optimal physical parameters were obtained as a result.Afterwards,the numerical simulation for the structure with ATMD control system against earthquakes was carried out.The simulation results show that the ATMD control system could play a good role on suppressing seismic responses of such a building,i.e.30.16% reduction of displacement and 24.13% reduction of acceleration of top floor,but the control force was so small to 266.08 kN.Consequently,ATMD control system′s availability and feasibility was verified.
