Landscape Design of Residential Area Based on the Needs of Socially Disadvantaged Groups

The full usage requirements that the socially disadvantaged groups( SDGs) in China have for urban public landscape are often ignored. The paper analyzed the psychological characteristics of the SDGs in China and their needs of leisure and recreation,and proposed several suggestions for landscape design of the areas where the SDGs reside. Based on the case of relocation of Chenkou Home in Liaocheng,the paper suggested that the environmental psychology should be applied to the design of residential landscape. Furthermore,the design strategy should be taken in accordance with facilities setting-up,landscape space construction,and the design and configuration of plants.This study was aimed to provide references for landscape design of residential area mainly inhabited by SDGs in China.
