Ornamental Grass Culture in Ancient Literature and Its Inspiration for Modern Plant Landscaping

From the perspective of modern plant landscaping,this paper extracted and summarized the different application places of ornamental grass,their arrangement and combination with other natural elements in Chinese ancient literary works by using literature review,interviews and investigations,and appreciates the emotion embodied in poetry about ornamental grass. Based on the analysis,the paper recommended the species that could be used in modern plant landscaping,and also proposed several suggestions on the creation of artistic conception with ornamental plant,which were inspired from the ancient literature. Tasting the cultural connotations of ornamental grass and applying them in plant landscape configuration by reviewing and summarizing ancient literary works,can not only make contribution to developing Chinese literary works,but also provide new ideas for the configuration of ornamental grasses in modern landscape architecture.
