Research on the responses of vertical vibration of train-track system due to voided sleepers

The settlement of ballast bed which is loose,elastic and plastic structure is caused by repeated traffic loading.Since the amount of settlement is different,the sleepers are always unsupported,even voided.Based on the analysis method of vertical vibration of train-track system,the dynamic responses of the system with one or several voided sleepers were investigated.The calculation results show that when a train passes the voided sleepers the wheel and rail interactions increase,the vertical displacement and vertical acceleration of sleepers increase obviously,and the more sleepers are voided the increase is more obvious;the vertical displacement and vertical acceleration of the sleepers which are well supported adjacent to the voided one will also remarkably increase;that will speeds up the track deterioration rate and even does harm to driving safety.
