Discussion on the value of the peak factor in the analysis of wind-induced vibration

The value of the peak factor was discussed with the crossing theory and reliability theory.Then Chinese code and foreign codes about the prescript of the peak factor was compared.Moreover,utilizing the theory mentioned above,the value of the peak factor about the wind-induced vibration of roof structure was obtained,The results show that the prescript of peak factor in Chinese code is probably unsafe for the wind-resistant design.And it is suggested that the value of the peak factor is 4.0~5.0 for the roof structure.
