Spatial spillover effects of transport infrastructure on land-use efficiency

Based on the literature summary of relationship between traffic development and land use efficiency,and taking the relevant data of 31 provinces(municipalities and autonomous regions) in China from 1997 to 2013,this essay uses Spatial Auto-correlation Model and Spatial Econometric Model to discuss the spatial correlation of the land use efficiency,and evaluates the spatial spillover effects on the land use efficiency caused by the transportation infrastructure on the scale of three different regions and the whole country.The results show that:The national land use efficiency shows significant positive spatial correlation;Transport infrastructure has positive direct effect and spillover effect on the land use efficiency,and the direct effect is found more significant than spillover effects across regions;Compared to railway infrastructure,The road transportation has a more significant direct effect on land use efficiency,whereas railway has a more spillover effect;The road transportation has a highest spillover effect on land use efficiency on the eastern part of China,while railway has a highest effect on the western part of China.
