CIP potato late blight research in China

XIE Kai yun, WANG Yi (CIP Liaison Office in Beijing, Beijing 100081, China)  
China is the biggest potato producer with annual planting area of 4 million hectares in the world and suffers huge loss due to the favorable conditions for late blight and the weak research efforts. CIP (International Potato Center) late blight research activities in China have been focusing on the introduction, evaluation and utilization of resistant materials from CIP, the biology of Phytophthora infestans , and the integrated control of late blight.
