The correlation between A2 mating type and DNA polymorphisms of P. infestans were assessed by RAPD with 220 primers. 27 polymorphic DNA primers were used for RAPD assay across 22 isolates. 275 DNA bands were reproductive and used for statistical analysis. The isolates were classified into 4 RAPD groups based on the RAPD bands. The result of this study showed that the DNA polymorphism was correlated with A2 mating type of P. infestans ; and among the isolates populations, the genetic differentiation was observed based on the RAPD groups, particularly a abundant genetic differentiation was manifested in Weichang county of Hebei province.
