Water Balance of Chestnut Soil in Oat Field

The water dynamics and annual balance of chestnut soil in oat field were studied in this paper based on the moisture data obtained from the fixed plot experiment in the na nonal dryland farming experimental station of Zhangbei. It showed that oats were adaptable to the water condition of the Plateau in North Hebei.The water reserve in the oat field lost28. 4mm during a year and 40.2mm during the non-growing season,but there was a surplus of 11.9mm water during the growing season.Water reservation during the growing season is important to raise the wateruse efficiency of oats.
