Simulation Analysis of the Effect of Different Gas Flow on Airbag Inflatable Process

A space airbag use gas which is generated by gunpowder burning in gas generator as power source of inflatable expansion. In order to verify the effect of different gas flow on the inflatable process of the airbag in vacuum,mathematical model of interior ballistics of the gas generator and finite element model of the airbag are established. According to the gas generator gunpowder burning model and airbag model,using the classical interior ballistics theory,the calculated curves of different nozzle gas flow and combustor temperature under different charge mass are used as the power source of airbag inflatable deployment,and the airbag inflatable process is simulated and analyzed by using control volume method( CV method) in LS-DYNA software. The results show that the larger the gas flow,the faster the airbag deploys,and the greater the maximum stress and the pressure in the airbag,and adjusting the charge mass can change the airbag inflatable process.
