The Synthesis and Cationic Photopolymerization Characteristics of 4-(1-propenyl) Oxybutyl Glycidyl Ether

A novel hybrid monomer 4-(1-propenyl)oxybutyl glycidyl ether(POBGE) was synthesized via three steps reaction.The product was characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared(FTIR) and 1 H-NMR spectroscopy.The photopolymerization characteristics of this monomer was investigated by Fourier Transform Real Time Infrared spectroscopy(FT-RTIR).The results indicated that the reactivity of triarylsufonium was better than the diarylliodonium.The final conversion of epoxy group and double bond were increased with increasing the initiator concentration and light intensity.
