In the hope of increasing income, some tea growers in Yunnan Province tried to intercrop with Alder tree or walnut tree.In order to investigate the effects of the two kinds of intercropping varieties of trees on tea quality, tea leaf samples from 4 different sampling bases were collected and the variations of main biochemical components of tea cultivar "Yunkang No.10" were analyzed in comparison with non-intercrop tea plantation. The results showed that intercrop had no significant effects on water soluble extracts, tea polyphenol, and catechin. The intercrop reduced the crude fiber, but increased the content of chlorophyll, caffeine, and amino acid total quantity of green tea significantly. So the ratio of polyphenol and amino acid was low, which benefits to improve the quality of green tea and the processing property of fresh tea leaves. In conclusion, the two intercrop patterns are significance to spread.
