Effects of Mechanical Hill-drop Drilling on Growth and Yield of Hybrid Rice

This experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of hill-drop drilling by KDS-08 MS direct seeder on growth and yield of hybrid rice in different seeding rates(45 kg/hm~2 and 60 kg/hm~2), using Yongyou 538 as material. The results showed that using the mechanical hill-drop drilling technique, although reduced the emergence rate, increased the productive tiller percentage. It improved the growth condition of direct seeding rice, reduced the bending moment of stalk and decreased the risk of lodging in the late growth stage. Compared with manual broadcast, the mechanical hill-drop drilling technique increased the grains per panicle, seed setting rate and 1000-grain weight, and the yield increased by 1.63%~5.48%.
