An Evaluationon Desertification Sensitivity of Luquan,Yunnan Province Based on OLI Data

The sensitivity of desertification refers to the level of possibility that a region occurs the desertification under the natural conditions. The sensitivity evaluation of desertification has important significance for the regional ecological environment construction and sustainable development. This paper evaluated the desertification sensitivity of Luquan County,Yunnan Province,by selecting the OLI image as data sources,the vegetation cover rate,the bare rock rate and the slope as evaluation indexes,and the geographical information technology as platform. The result shows that the mildly sensitive area is 2091 square kilometer,the ratio is 57. 492%; the moderately sensitive area is 1470 square kilometer,the ratio is 40. 418%; the severely sensitive area is 75. 46 square kilometer,the ratio is 2. 075%; the extremely sensitive area is 0. 533 square kilometer,the ratio is 0. 015%. In the spatial distribution,the mildly sensitive areas are mainly distributed in the central and western regions,the moderately sensitive areas are concentrated in the northern and southern regions,the severely sensitive areas are mainly distributed in the northern Jinsha River basin,the eastern Purdue river basin and the along areas of the rivers of Yunlong reservoir watershed,and the extremely sensitive areas are mainly in the downstream of the Pudu River. In general,the desertification sensitivity of Luquan County is relatively high,the particular attention should be paid to the conservation during the regional development to avoid the further degrading ecological situation.
