The Broilers studied were from a commercial line of broiler chicken(AA).The genetic variations among 15 male broilers and 15 female broilers were detected respectively by the random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) method with 17 primers selected previously.The experiment results showed that:(1)One hundere and two out of 145 RAPD fragments were polymophic ones,and the polymophic percent was 70.34% in female population. Ninety two out of 154 RAPD fragments were found being polymophic ones,and the polymophic percent was 59.74% in male population.These results indicated that RAPD marker was high in polymorphism,and it was suitable for the analysis of genetic structure in chicken population.(2)The average pairwise similarity indices within male and female population were 0.8621 ,0.821 4,respectively.(3)A large numbers of primer should be used in order to detect genetic variation among individuals within a heterozygous population.$$$$
