2D numerical simulation of artificial ionospheric heating in polar region

The 2D numerical simulation model of the ionospheric heating is presented,and the 2D disturbance effect and the saturation characteristic of electron density and temperature are discussed. The density and temperature enhancement of 2D Gaussian distribution,with the beam centre,is produced. The minimum of the density saturation time is located at the position of the increment peak,and the saturation time increases with the range from peak position. The temperature saturation is controlled by background temperature,absorption rate of radio wave energy and thermal conductivity,and has a more complicated space distribution.
