The effect of application of the psychological interrention on awaked pationts treated with mechanical ventilation in ICU

Objective The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of psychological interventions on awaked patients treated with mechanical ventilation in ICU. Methods There were 80 awaked patients with mechanical ventilation in ICU randomly divided into experimental group and control group, 40 cases in each group. Patients in control group were treated with conventional mechanical ventilation, while patients in experimental group were treated with psychological intervention as well as conventional mechanical ventilation. The weaning rate and patient satisfaction were compared between these two groups.Results The experimental group were better in weaning rate and patient satisfaction compared with the control group(P0.05).Conclusion Practicing psychological intervention on awaked patients treated with mechanical ventilation in ICU helps to relieve discomfort, empower the patient to triumph over illness and improves the weaning rate and patient satisfaction.
