Analysis of VHF Wave Propagation Characteristics in Layered Uniform Plasma with Large Scale

In this paper, the reflected and transmitted characteristics of VHF wave in the plasma with large scale, slow-change electron density are studied according to the law of the electron density changed with the space height in ionosphere, and the simulation model of reflection and transmission coefficients is obtained by using layered medium(WKB) method.The VHF wave propagation which wave frequency band changes from 30 MHz to 150 MHz is influenced greatly by the plasma with large scale, slow-change electron density, i.e.transmission energy attenuation of VHF wave is greater than 10 d B, and the energy attenuation is increased by exponent when the wave frequency is deduced, and the transmission energy attenuation value as wave frequency is near 30 MHz would be out of range of receiver sensitivity, and the communication system would work abnormally.
