A study on the systematic in-service training system for technical secondary school junior nurses

Objective To build a systematic in-service training system for technical secondary school junior nurses based on full survey on training demands, and provide new reference for in-service training quality for technical secondary school junior nurses. Methods Convenient method,hierarchical method and random number method are adopted to extract 2 008 technical secondary school junior nurses and 172 nursing/HR management staff in 104 prefecture-level cities of Sichuan Nanchong, Zigong, Suining and Guang'an. The questionnaire survey/interview methods are used to conduct survey and analysis of in-service training demands of junior nurses, based on which a systematic in-service training system for technical secondary school junior nurses is worked out. Results Data analysis and materials analysis are conducted to confirm that technical secondary school junior nurses have demands in 21 items under five dimensions including training contents, methods, faculty, time and management while hospitals have six demands covering concept, objective, knowledge, organization, ability and mechanism, thus building three systems of strategy, support and implementation, and a systematic in-service training system for technical secondary school junior nurses which is composed of nine sub-systems.Conclusion Systematic training is an extremely effective in-service training model. To build a systematic training system on the basis of the concept of integrating overall hospital development and in-service nurse training is the development trend of current systematic training model and all the more important guarantee for the training model to truly play its role.
