Application of electroencephalogram in clinical diagnosis of patients with dementia epilepsy

Objective To investigate the effect of electroencephalogram(EEG) in clinical diagnosis of patients with dementia epilepsy. Methods Forty patients with epilepsy admitted in our hospital from January 2016 to January 2017 were enrolled in this study. Forty patients with non-dementia epilepsy were selected as the control group. Eight patients underwent electroencephalogram(EEG). Results In the EEG diagnosis, the total abnormal rate of electroencephalogram(85.00%) in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group(10.00%), the difference was statistically significant(P0.05). In the EEG observation, found that the observation group appeared 31 times the absence of attack, can be displayed in the EEG, but the control group 17 seizures can not be fully displayed. In the observation group, the proportion of patients with abnormal epilepsy during sleep time(51.85%) was significantly higher than that in the awake phase(11.11%) and the combined period(37.04%), the difference was statistically significant(P0.05). Conclusion The accuracy of EEG diagnosis of epilepsy is relatively high, which can accurately locate the brain abnormal discharge and discharge phase, which is worthy of clinical application and promotion.
