Permanent Displacements Computation of Reinforced Soil Wall Under Seismic Loading Based on the Pseudo-static Method

The pseudo-static and limit equilibrium theory coupled method had been applied to the anti-seismic design for Reinforced Soil Wall frequently, but the simplify conditions of limit equilibrium theory that without considering the yield criterion and flow rule cause the insufficient in studying the stability of reinforced earth retaining wall by this method. In this paper, based on the upper limit theorem of limit analysis and the Newmark theory, the external force and internal energy dissipation rate of the reinforced earth retaining wall were calculated. Then the formula of seismic yield acceleration was established. The mathematical optimization method was used to solve the formula. Finally, the formula of practical permanent displacement of reinforced earth retaining wall under seismic load was established and an example was calculated by this method to demonstrate the method. The results show that the stability of the reinforced earth retaining wall is related to the friction angle, cohesion and horizontal acceleration coefficient of the soil.
