To evaluate the efficiency of removing poisonous gas with ventilators, the ability to ventilate in A-type and B-type warships was measured respectively. The result showed that the frequency of exchanging air in the main cabin was 5.6-103 times/hour. The time for eliminating poisonous gas ranged from several to scores of hours at low concentration of sarin(0.4-1.5mg/m3), however the time need_ ed at high concentration of sarin(50mg/m3)was more than hundreds of hours. Therefore, we considered that it would be effectual to remove poisonous gas by ventilation if it was at low concentration. To raise efficiency of chemical protection, the airtightness in cabin should be strengthened, the ability to ventilate raised, thb sprayer for decontaminating used.
