THE CHANGE CHARACTERISTICS OF ROCK RESPONSE SPECTRUM WITH EARTHQUAKE MAGNITUDE AND EPICENTRAL DISTANCE

Shi Zhengliang Chen Hanyao (Institute of Geophysics,State Seismological Bureau ,Beijing 100081,China)  
In this paper,according to the attenuation law of rock response spectrum,its change characteristics with earthquake magnitude and epicentral distance is discussed,which includes the second characteristic period,the slope of the descending segments. The research shows that the earthquake magnitude is the most important affecting factor on the second characteristic period,and the epicentral distance only affects the slope of the descending segments. The obtained results can be used in practical seismic design.
