TRANSIENT RESPONSE OF A SEMI-CYLINDRICAL CANYON BY STEP SH-WAVE-LONG TIME SOLUTION

The problem of transient response of a semi-cylindrical canyon by a step displacement SH-wave in time is considered by means of Laplace transform and the method of expansion of Wave functions. Through the inversion of Laplace transform the long time solution of the scattering displacement field of the canyon after the step SH-Waves crossed over the canyon is obtained. Finally the displacement response of the points on the surface of the canyon is given for the different instant.
