Seismic safety evaluation and input of earthquake ground motion for tall buildings

According to the meaning of intensity in the present intensity zoning map of China, this paper points out some problems during using the present "building seismic design code", and some uncoordinations between the building seismic design code and the law of earthquake prevention and disaster mitigation in our county. Based on the experiences of seisAnc safety evaluation of engineering sites some problems in the procedure of seismic safety evaluation are sununarized. The authors make a suggestion on studying a new site classification method for tall buildings and simplifying the safety evaluation procedure according to the height of the buildings.
